This was the last Stoke Newington festival in 2007. The council pulled the plug after 2007 despite a long history as a free community festival. This video won a film competition organised by the event. The brief was to make a promotional video or documentary about any aspect of the festival. It contains interviews from 2 members of the 1980’s band ‘Crass’ – Penny Rimbaud and Eve Libertine. After the event, I followed up with a further interview and the group’s property in epping forest. It formed the based of 2 other short videos concerning the history of festival culture and the protest/peace movement. Contact me for more details on them.
